Reverend Kiyoshi Tanimoto, “This Is Your Life,” (1955).


Reverend Kiyoshi Tanimoto was one of six survivors that survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima featured in John Hersey’s Hiroshima. After the war, Tanimoto became best known for his speaking tours and work for the Hiroshima Maidens. In 1955, he appeared on the popular American television program “This Is Your Life,” where he was reunited with numerous people from his past, including co-pilot of the Enola Gay, Captain Robert A. Lewis.
